Travel
We love to travel (Nate especially!), and we're blessed to have been able to take some amazing trips over the years. Here we've attempted to give you a glimpse into some of the trips we've taken through photos and captions. Nate traveled around the world, and posted his pictures and commentaries here.
Our honeymoon in Los cabos
We married in October 2006, and because that's prime hurricane season, we decided to take our honeymoon on the western coast of Mexico. So we traveled to San Jose del Cabo in Baja California, Mexico. Unfortunately, our plan backfired and there was actually a hurricane there during our honeymoon. Thankfully it missed the coast, and we only got an evening of rain. After a few days of experiencing the culture in San Jose, we relocated to Cabo San Lucas, the more lively part of Cabo. The water was too rough for any swimming, so we spent most of our time by the pool.

We had a cool suite called La Jacaranda

Every morning the hotel served a continental breakfast by the pool. The hut-like structure is the pool bar. Here Nate is getting his coffee (not nearly as good as American coffee).

Jen enjoyed reading by the pool

Even Nate was in on the relaxation, reading a John Grisham book recommended by Jen

Our hotel was very pretty on the outside

We went snorkeling here in the Sea of Cortez. Unfortunately, a wave pummeled us as we were walking back to shore, and sand kept leaking out of our bathing suits for the rest of the day.

The room had lots of decorations around, like this swan towel in the bathroom.

The Pacific Ocean with the ubiquitous cliffs in the distance

Nate was exuberant just before a wave splashed into him. The waves of the Pacific Ocean were very rough, and swimming was prohibited.

The hotel was built into a mountain. The restaurant at the top was seven stories high, and had a beautiful view of the ocean.

Hammocks are not as comfortable as they look. Jen lasted about 20 minutes in this one.

This seat, however, was perfectly comfortable!

The hotel overlooked Cabo San Lucas and the marina where all the ships harbored. The huge blue pool you see in the distance is actually a dolphin exhibit.

We sought some relief from the heat here and ordered ice cream and guacamole. But what's missing from this picture is the mariachi band to the left and some drunk Americans dancing.

We took a glass bottom boat to see the famous arches and Lovers' Beach.

This wave came as a surprise to Jen, but apparently not for Nate who was ready with his camera!
