Creating the Nursery

This is special project that we embarked on with much excitement and anticipation. We are taking Jen's office and turning it into a space that will hopefully be fit for our little guy when he comes in June (Lord willing). We settled on an animal theme, and are having fun picking out colors and decorations to go with that.

We started by painting the walls a warm peach color that we hoped would accent the furniture and bedding we had chosen. Then we moved in the furniture we had so far – a crib that was generously given to us by friends, and Jen's bedroom set from when she was a child. We have a few things for the walls, but are waiting until we have the bedding set and the valances before we hang anything up.
After our baby shower, we were stocked up and ready to finish the nursery. The final step was to complete the baby name craft project – we painted the wooden letters of the baby's name and hung them up with cute animal hangers. (We found everything at Michael's, in case you want to try it yourself.) Leo found a new favorite spot to curl up for a nap, as you can see in the middle right photo.
