Knitting
More than just two sticks and a ball of yarn, knitting is a stress reliever for me. And there's nothing like the feeling of accomplishment when I finish a project. Here's a few pictures of things I've knitted, none very difficult or amazing, if you're interested.
After making about two dozen scarves over the course of my knitting career, (and a few hats on DP), I decided it was time to learn something more challenging. I'd never deciphered how to read a pattern, so taking a class at my local yarn shop seemed logical. Rather than trying to knit a garment, socks seemed like a small and interesting project. I finished this pair during the month-long class, although I was power-knitting day and night. They're made from super-wash yarn, but the wool is a little too scratchy for my feet. So frankly, they've just been sitting in my dresser for the past year. Not very practical!

I started my second pair of socks about a year ago, but they, uh, still haven't been completed yet. I guess I'm suffering from sock fatigue. My newest project is a soft, blue baby blanket. The pattern is from "Stitch n Bitch" (Bad Baby Blanket), using a combination of seed stitch and alternating stockinette. It's really been a joy to knit after using #3 DP needles for so long! Hopefully I'll finish it in time for the baby's due date in June.

I have about a quarter of the blanket done so far.

The cat is there to provide scale.

The never-ending pair of socks. It's a shame, because I'd like to wear them...
