To celebrate Silas’ birthday with family and a few friends, we threw a party in our backyard, and the weather cooperated perfectly. It was a beautiful day, and even Silas made it through the evening without too much fuss. The most traumatic part was getting his own piece of birthday cake…After thrusting his hand into the icing, Silas gagged at the texture and immediately starting crying. So much for taking a bite—the feel of it was all he could handle! Otherwise, he seemed to enjoy himself, especially the balloons!
