It’s official, our little boy is now one year old! I was very excited to celebrate his birthday, although Silas was completely oblivious to the significance of today. His day was pretty normal as far as he could tell, except that we gave him presents and a lot of people sang him a special song.
At suppertime we put a candle into a dinner roll and sang happy birthday to him. Unfortunately, he was a little too interested in the candle and knocked it over, getting some hot wax on his hand in the process. That caused some tears, but Nate did a good job of distracting him. Whew, wouldn’t want him to have a negative association with birthdays because of that!
We’re so happy to be blessed with Silas and thank God for him!
